Sue Ellen Deedy 1966, Reel 1
Jane Deedy., Copyright 2008
This film opens with shots of the new kitchen Tom and Sue installed at 49 Waldemar Ave in Winthrop. You also see baby Tommy and his older sister Sue Ellen. Sue would like it noted that her 1966 kitchen included stainless steel appliances (range and dishwasher) - so she was way ahead of the current trend! The film then moves along to the living room where all are gathered for Sue Ellen's 2nd birthday. We see older sister Kerin helping little Sue Ellen open her gifts. Looking on are some neighborhood children and family. Sue Ellen's Aunt Kathy, Nana, great-aunt Jane, and great-aunt Margaret are there along with Uncle Peter and Aunt Pat. Sue appears in her flower skirt and very 60's hairdo. Toward the end you catch glimpses of Tom wheeling out Sue Ellen's first car.
If this is Sue Ellen's 2nd birthday party, the film was shot in late September 1966.
